Key Impact Highlights

• Saved over 1,148 metres of end-of-roll fabric from going to landfill since NZ production began in 2020.

• 21 women employed full time at our rural Indian sewing house with fair, empowering wages.

• Support provided to 21 families, improving holistic wellbeing and living standards.

• Over 200 village women have gained access to education, increasing their confidence, social standing, and future opportunities.

• Child marriages have been postponed until women are in their mid-twenties, giving them greater freedom, choice, confidence, and a stronger voice in their communities.

• Our seamstresses have been able to fund the construction of indoor bathrooms in their homes, improving hygiene, safety, and dignity.

• Last year we reached a milestone and began offering a retirement savings scheme for our seamstresses in India.

• Support extended to four partner production houses in NE India, Kolkata, Cambodia, and Nepal, helping survivors of human trafficking heal, reclaim their lives, and restore their mental and physical well-being.

• We maintain a transparent supply chain, working directly with our production team to ensure they are supported, valued, and never managed through a third party.

• During the COVID pandemic, we honoured every order and stood in solidarity with our production partners, providing stability and support through an uncertain time, and our team was paid 100% of their wages throughout the pandemic.

• We use natural plant-based fabrics that return to the earth at the end of their lifecycle.

• We’ve eliminated the problem of overproduction by only producing small runs.

• We cut each pattern by hand to reduce electricity usage and fabric wastage.

• We’ve diverted over 1,000 metres of end-of-roll fabric from landfill by repurposing it in our NZ production since 2020.

• Our fabric offcuts are freely available to our seamstresses, who upcycle them into sanitary pads, cushion stuffing, and other home projects.

• We source fabric within the same country as each production house to avoid additional carbon emissions from international shipping.

• We use organic and raw denim that requires less water, avoids harmful chemicals like acid washing, and recycles up to 90% of wastewater during processing.

• This year, we invented our own ‘eco stone wash’ for denim to achieve a worn look using only a steaming process—preserving 100% of the fabric’s life—unlike traditional methods involving acid washing and pumice stones.

• We reuse cardboard boxes multiple times before recycling, and we ship using biodegradable paper tape and compostable courier bags.

• Our shop fit-out reflects our ethos — built from natural wood and steel. In-store, we use wooden coat hangers, paper shopping bags, a paperless POS system, and recyclable packaging.
