Traditional denim finishing often relies on harsh acid washes, pumice stones, and chemical distressing to achieve that soft, lived-in look. While effective, these processes can be hard on the environment, the people working with the fabric, and the denim itself.

So we asked a simple question: Could there be a better way?

The answer is our new Eco Stonewash.

We call it Eco Stonewash because it delivers the character of a traditional stonewash, but without the stones, acids, or harsh chemical treatments.

It all begins with our carefully selected brushed denim, chosen for its beautifully soft hand feel and ability to develop character naturally. Following our pre-shrink wash, each garment is carefully finished using the power of pure H₂O and heat. A carefully applied steam press gently draws out the natural highs and lows of the fabric, creating the subtle lighter seams and beautifully aged character that denim lovers appreciate.

The result is denim that feels soft and comfortable from the very first wear, with a naturally aged appearance, without the harsh treatments traditionally associated with distressed denim.

By replacing acid washing with steam, we're reducing unnecessary chemical use while creating a gentler process for our production team, kinder to your skin, and more respectful of the environment.

Another significant benefit is what happens beneath the surface. Traditional acid washes and abrasive distressing deliberately break down the denim fibres to create a pre-worn appearance, meaning the fabric has already surrendered some of its lifespan before it's even worn. Our Eco Stonewash preserves the integrity of the fibres, allowing the denim to retain its full strength and longevity. Every pair begins life with all of its years still ahead of it.
